What is Tezser?
A carpooling service for Almaty and its suburbs: a driver follows their own route — to work or on errands — and takes riders going the same way. Passengers pay less than a taxi; drivers get their gas covered.
How is it different from a taxi?
It is not a taxi. The driver does not go out looking for fares: they drive where they were going anyway and simply share the road and the cost with riders. That is why it costs less.
How do I start?
Get Tezser on the App Store for iPhone or on Google Play for Android. On a computer, open app.tezser.com in your browser — nothing to install. We are starting with Almaty.
Is it safe?
Identity can be confirmed with a document — then a “Verified” badge appears on the ride card. The driver states that their licence and insurance are valid, and that statement is shown on the card too. The service may request documents from any user. Profile, route and messages stay in the app, payment goes by card with no cash in the car, and after the ride you leave a rating.
How much does it cost?
The amount depends on the distance of the route, and the driver may adjust the recommended price a little. The total you pay is shown in the app before you confirm the ride: it already includes the driver's cost-share and the service fee — nothing is added on top of the total you see. It is usually noticeably lower than a taxi. Payment is by card, no cash.
